Bereaved Parents Awareness Month Day 12.
Last year on day 12 I shared something special that my grandson Logan said.
This year I will share something else that Logan said that really spoke to my heart.
A couple months ago Logan was on the computer and there was a little pocket cross laying on table next to him. http://www.pocketcross.org/act/
I picked it up and said ” Do you know why Jesus died on the cross?”
Logan quickly answered, “so that we could live.”
My answer to that question would have been because He loves us.
Both answers are true but Logan’s 6-year-Old response made me stop in my tracks.
“So that we could live.”
I automatically think of John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.“
Wikipedia says John 3:16 (chapter 3, verse 16 of the Gospel of John of the New Testament) is one of the most widely quoted verses from the Bible and has been called the most famous Bible verse.
Love and Life.
So that we can live.
What is everlasting life?
It’s not just living forever in Heaven, that’s certainly part of it which if that was all there was it would be more than we deserve.
Life everlasting, eternal life.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” John 17:3
Life. Knowing God, having a close personal, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.
That’s for right now, right here while we live on this earth.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak but Logan was right.
Jesus died so that we could live.
May we all find out what it means to truly live.
