Adversity

“There is in every true woman’s heart, a spark of heavenly fire, which lies dormant in the broad daylight of prosperity, but which kindles up and beams and blazes in the dark hour of adversity.”~ Washington Irvine

I wouldn’t wish the tremendous loss of a child on anyone. It is tragic beyond words. Tears flow, sobs are choked back, they come at the most inconvenient times and places and sometimes over the most basic everyday things. The heart literally aches and sometimes you don’t know how you will breathe your next breath.

You go on because you have to, you choose too, you need too.

Even though the hour of adversity lasts much longer than sixty minutes, it brings out of one’s self what has been deliberately and faithfully put in over time.

I have found that the heavenly fire spoken of does indeed kindle up, beam and blaze and when a woman’s heart is on fire with righteousness, love, justice and truth, people will come and watch you burn.
