Love Is..

When I was in elementary school back in the late 1970s and early 1980s my school would always put on a musical production.

It was a private school so everyone in our small class got to participate.

This morning, a song came to mind that I got to sing over 35 years ago as a solo part.

As I mentioned before, I usually hear from God in the form of a song, so I really pay attention to what else He has to say to me.

Considering His word says that “The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17img_0979

I believe he is singing those songs over me and that’s why I hear them in my heart.

The song I got to sing as a nine-year-old girl was called ~“Love is a very special thing.”

“Love is a very special thing. A smile, a tear, a soft summer rain.

It has no beginning, it has no end, and I like it best when it’s shared with a friend.

Love is never stuffed up, never puffed up, never gives up, when the goings rough, it’s the biggest little word you can say by the way.

It’s sympathy, sincerity, it’s charity the main variety, and everything happiness is made of, and I like it best when it’s shared with a friend.”

What a simple song with a powerful meaning. We all search for love. It is something we all need.DD819822-2D75-405E-B961-459C94393371

God IS love. He doesn’t just love us.

God and Love are interchangeable.

Love (God)is patient and kind.

Love (God) is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.

Love (God) does not demand its own way.

Love (God) is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.

Love (God) never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

The gifts that come from love (God) are many. Here are a few: (1)forgiveness, (2) patience,  (3) kindness, (4) love for truth, (5) love for justice, (6) love for the best in a person, (7) loyalty at any cost, (8) believe in a person no matter what.

Love(God) does not allow for (1) jealousy, (2) envy, (3) pride, (4) a haughty spirit, (5),selfishness, (6) rudeness, (7), a demand for one’s own way, (8) irritability, (9) grudges.

I often refer to the book titled “Imagine Heaven” by John Burke.

I am so touched by the similar stories from people from all races, religions and walks of life who had near death experiences and all say the same thing.

When they are shown their life review, Jesus skips over their accomplishments on this Earth and goes right for the heart. How did you make other people feel? How did you treat people? It’s all about relationships. It’s all about love.

I must say that you can not give away what you do not have. If you have believed wrong things about God, believing that He is controlling all of the evil in this world and allowing it to happen,  believing that we are just pawns in his chess game, there is no possible way that you are able to believe that He is a loving God who loves you and wants what is best for you.

If you do not know His character, who He is and how much He has done for you, then there is no way that you can receive the great love He has for you, therefore you cannot give it away.

If you want to KNOW God, who He is and how much He loves you, read about the life of His Son Jesus.Jesus said, If you have seen me , you have seen the Father. Jesus came to show us the way, the truth and the life because He is the way, the truth and the life, nobody can come to the Father God except through Jesus.img_0982

It is really simple: Believe and receive, or doubt and do without.

Here is a link of children singing Love is a very special thing..My parents used a tape recorder back in the 1980’s to record my solo but my younger brothers recorded over it. I decided to share this YouTube video so you could hear the song.
