Overwhelmed

“From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

The second part of that verse has been in my thoughts lately.

“when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

That is how God speaks to me.

Through His word.

It sounds like it’s one of my own thoughts because it’s in my own voice in my head.

We all have thoughts running through our mind at any given time of day, or night.

Where do those thoughts come from?

Everywhere,Everything, Everyone.

That is why it’s so critical to flood our minds and hearts with positive things. With truth.

I’ve heard it said that if you want to know the counterfeit, get so familiar with the real thing,study the real thing, than you will know a counterfeit when you see it because it’s not real.

So many people are filling themselves with the counterfeits of this world, trying to fill the emptiness that is meant for the creator our lives…

As I type this, a commercial from the late 70s or early 80s popped into my head. “Ain’t nothing like the real thing baby ain’t nothing like the real thing.”

That doesn’t make me want to get a coca~cola. However, it does make me smile.

I want the “real thing.”

I need to be led to the rock that is higher than I.

Jesus is the rock of my salvation. His banner over me is love.

This is how I do it. I speak the Word of God out loud no matter how I feel.

Truth trumps feelings, no matter how overwhelming and real those feelings feel.
