Imagine Heaven…

Are you able to Imagine Heaven?

I try to, but I’m sure that my imagination does not even come close.

Shortly after my Son’s Murder, someone recommended the book titled “Imagine Heaven” by John Burke.img_9620.jpg

New York Times Bestseller

I read it cover to cover and it was exhilarating.

I picked it up again the other day, and since my state of mind is different, I feel like I’m reading it with an even deeper desire to know what is coming when I take my last breath on Earth and my first breath in Heaven.

Any fear I had of death is gone. Not because of the book but because my Son died. Life is fragile. Tomorrow isn’t promised so I find myself really focusing on enjoying the moments…

We act like life will go on and on and never end, but it will. We just don’t know when.

Shouldn’t we learn about our final destination? We spend more time planning our next vacation then we do planning for eternity!

The book is about Near Death Experiences had by people from all walks of life.

Neurosurgeons, Orthopedic Surgeons, Commercial Airline Pilots and Professors to name a few.

People from all races and religions. Young and old.

Their perspectives, their attitudes, their purpose changed drastically when they were resuscitated or when they woke up in their physical natural bodies.

I won’t write about the individual experiences, but they are definitely worth reading about in my opinion.

One excerpt that I want to share is on pg. 59 “As Mother Teresa said, ” In light of heaven, the worst suffering on earth, a life full of the most atrocious tortures on earth, will be seen to be no more serious than one night in an inconvenient hotel.”

Mother Teresa

I remember telling Billy when he was about 15 years old, that we fix our eyes not on what is seen but on what is unseen because what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.

It was one of those moments that is etched into my memory.

I remember the room we were in, where we were sitting on the couch, what time of day it was.

It was a heart to heart moment.

Billy was about 16 years old in this picture.

Billy is now part of the unseen and I will continue to fix my eyes, meaning the eyes of my understanding, my heart, on the unseen.

I would encourage you to get a copy of the book, “Imagine Heaven” and read it and stir your own imagination.

Don’t only take my word for it, find out for yourself!

Perhaps listening to this song would be a good start.
